Principal Scientist, Pharmacology

    Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Principal Scientist, Pharmacology to join our Biotherapeutics department located at our Ridgefield, CT facility.

    •Design and implement strategies for the functional characterization and optimization of antibody-based therapeutics
    •Manage a group of scientists to ensure high quality results and timely project support
    •Actively participate in, with the ability to lead, antibody-based drug discovery project teams
    •Effectively collaborate with colleagues in the antibody lead identification, engineering and purification groups
    •Participate in the evaluation of biologic-based therapeutic technologies
    •Maintain excellent communication within the Biotherapeutics Dept. and across all research project teams and departments
    •Ensure all R&D activities meet the highest quality standards and are conducted in accordance with all regulations and safety procedures and practices



    •Ph.D. degree in cell biology, pharmacology, a biomedical science or equivalent experience
    •Knowledge of the principles of biochemical and cell-based functional as-ays
    •At least 5 years experience in antibody-based drug discovery research, including post-doc


    •At least 4 - 5 years industry and supervisory experience preferred
    •Strong data analysis and troubleshooting skills
    •Technical expertise in the functional characterization of therapeutic antibodies
    •Experience in the use of ex vivo and in vitro studies to investigate autoimmune or cardiometabolic-related mechanisms preferred
    •Demonstrated ability to think strategically and work effectively in teams; experience with drug discovery project leadership preferred
    •Strong verbal and written communication skills
